Scott Kazmir (14-9), who is winless in his last six starts for the Oakland Athletics, will be going up against second-year starter Nick Tepesch (5-10) and the Texas Rangers on Friday.

Left-hander Scott Kazmir was lucky to come away with just a no decision on Sunday after giving up six runs in 5.1 innings against the Philadelphia Phillies. He allowed 11 base hits in that game and walked one batter while striking out nine. Kazmir has a pretty good 3.63 ERA this year and he has only given up 16 home runs in 183.1 innings.

Brewers infielder Adam Rosales has seven hits in 14 at-bats against Kazmir in his career with a home run and three RBI. Outfielder Alex Rios is 11-for-49 against him with a home run and 11 strikeouts.

On Sunday, Nick Tepesch pitched seven strong innings against the Los Angeles Angels on the road and ended up with a no decision. He gave up just one run on four hits in that start and walked two hitters while striking out three, the right-hander now has a 4.14 ERA and he has only been able to strike out 54 batters in 121.2 innings this season.

A's outfielder Brandon Moss has four hits in his 10 at-bats against Tepesch with a double, a home run and three RBI. Veteran Coco Crisp is just 1-for-11 against him with no walks and a strikeout.
