Oakland Athletics starter Sonny Gray will try to make it three wins in a row on Sunday afternoon when he takes on veteran Chris Young and the Seattle Mariners.

Right-hander Sonny Gray picked up his ninth win of the year on Tuesday by beating the San Francisco Giants at home. He pitched seven strong innings in that start by giving up just one run on six hits and striking out eight batters while walking just one. Gray has been great for the A's this season, going 9-3 through 18 starts with a 2.97 ERA and 103 strikeouts in 118 innings.

Mariners infielder Brad Miller has four hits in his 12 at-bats against Gray with an RBI and a strikeout. Third baseman Kyle Seager only has one hit in 10 at-bats versus Gray with two walks and two strikeouts.

On Tuesday, Chris Young had a solid outing against the Minnesota Twins, but he ended up suffering his fifth loss after getting no runs from his offense. He pitched seven innings in that game and gave up just two earned runs on six hits while walking one batters and striking out six. He now has a 3.08 ERA on the year and has only given up 79 hits in 105.1 innings of work.

Outfielder Coco Crisp has more at-bats against Young than any of the other A's, but he is just 2-for-12 against him with three strikeouts.
