On Wednesday night, Oakland Athletics starter Brad Mills will make his second start of the season when he faces 24-year-old Zack Wheeler and the New York Mets.

Brad Mills pitched his first game of the 2014 season last Friday against the Boston Red Sox and came away with a no decision. He could only make it through four innings in that game and he allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits while walking four batters and striking out four. One of his issues in that start was that he only threw 53 of his 94 pitches for strikes.

The only player on the Yankees who Mills has faced so far in his career is outfielder Curtis Granderson, who is 0-for-1 against him.

Last week against the Miami Marlins, second-year starter Zack Wheeler pitched the first shutout of his career and picked up his third win of the season. He gave up just three hits in that outing and walked one while striking out eight. Wheeler is now 3-7 on the year and he has 87 strikeouts in 87 innings pitched. He has also only given up five home runs this season.

All of the player son the A's will be going up against Wheeler for the first time on Wednesday night. He has done very well against right-handed hitters so far this year, holding them to just a .220 batting average in 173 at-bats.
