Impressive young right-hander Sonny Gray will go for his eighth win of the season on Saturday afternoon when the Oakland Athletics take on Nathan Eovaldi and the Miami Marlins.

Last Wednesday, Sonny Gray picked up his seventh win of the year when he was able to defeat the Texas Rangers at home. He went seven innings in that start and allowed just two runs on six hits while walking two and striking out seven. Gray is 7-3 for the A's this season and he has been able to strike out 86 batters in 99 innings while only giving up six home runs.

All of the Marlins will be going up against Gray for the first time on Saturday.

24-year-old starter Nathan Eovaldi pitched 6.1 scoreless innings against the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday and came away with his fifth win of the season. He gave up just six innings in that game and walked one batter while striking out two. Eovaldi is striking out more batters this season than he did in 2013 and his walk rate is by far the best of his career.

Infielder Alberto Callaspo is 2-for-2 with a walk against Eovaldi and is the only player on the Marlins who has hit a home run off of the right-hander. None of the Marlins have gone up against him more than three times in their careers.
