Oakland Athletics starter Drew Pomeranz will look to continue his hot start to the season on Tuesday night when he faces Tyler Skaggs and the Los Angeles Angels.

Left-hander Drew Pomeranz went seven strong innings against the New York Yankees on the road last Thursday, but he ended up taking his third loss of the season when he got just one run of support from his offense. He allowed two runs (one earned) in that start and struck out seven while walking just one. Pomeranz is now 5-3 on the season with a 2.20 ERA and has struck out 42 batters in 45 innings.

Angels second baseman Howie Kendrick is 2-for-5 against Pomeranz in his career with one home run and two RBI. Mike Trout has just one hit in five at-bats against him.

Angels starter Tyler Skaggs could only make it through five innings against the Houston Astros last week and picked up his fourth loss of the season. He allowed four runs in those four innings of work and walked three while striking out four. Skaggs has done well keeping the ball ion the ballpark this year, allowing just six homers in 76.2 innings.

Outfielder Craig Gentry has two singles in six at-bats against Skaggs with two walks and two strikeouts. Kyle Blanks and Brandon Moss both have hit a home run off of the left-hander.
