Jesse Chavez and Brad Peacock will face each other for the second time in less than a week when the Oakland Athletics play the Houston Astros on Friday night.

Jesse Chavez continued his first season in the Athletics' rotation by picking up his first win of the season again these same Houston Astros on Sunday. He went six innings in that game and gave up just one run on four hits while striking out six and walking three. His ERA through 26 innings is now 1.38 and he is walking just 1.7 batters per nine innings.

Jason Castro has one hit off of Chavez, but he has struck out three times in five career plate appearances against him. Marwin Gonzalez has only faced the right-hander three times so far, but he has two hits, including one home run.

Brad Peacock made his first start of the season this past Sunday against the A's and took the loss, though he only gave up two earned runs in the game. He was able to last five innings in that outing and gave up five hits and walked three while striking out four. His ERA through 14.2 innings this season is 6.14 and he's walking nearly seven batters per nine innings.

Peacock does not like facing A's outfielder Coco Crisp, who has four extra-base hits (two doubles, one triple, one home run) against him in 10 at-bats.
