Right-hander Jesse Chavez will be going for his ninth win of the season when he and the Oakland Athletics take on Brad Peacock and the Houston Astros on Monday night.

Last week, Jesse Chavez gave up just two runs in 5.2 innings against the Houston Astros and ended up coming up with his eighth win of the year. He allowed our hits in that outing and struck out seven batters while walking two. Chavez is now 8-6 for the A's this season and he has only walked 2.8 batters per nine innings, which is a career best for the right-hander.

Astros infielder Marwin Gonzalez has two hits in his five at-bats against Chavez and he is the only Houston player who has been able to hit a home run off of him.

Brad Peacock lost his second game in a row and his seventh overall last week when he was beaten by these same Oakland Athletics on the road. He could only make it through 3.2 innings in that game and he gave up a season-high seven runs on seven hits while walking five and striking out two. He is now 3-7 on the season with a 4.93 ERA and he has walked 4.9 batters per nine innings, which is the worst walk rate of his career.

A's All-Star Josh Donaldson has four hits against Peacock in 12 at-bats with a double, a home run and two RBI. Josh Reddick is just 1-for-8 against the right-hander with three walks and two strikeouts.
