On Sunday night, Jon Lester (13-7) will be going for his fourth win in row when the Oakland Athletics go up against Mike Minor (4-8) and the Atlanta Braves.

On Tuesday, Jon Lester pitched six innings against the Kansas City Royals on the road and finished with his 13th win of the season. He allowed three runs on six base hits in that outing while striking out nine batters and walking two. He now has a 2.51 ERA on the year and has only given up 146 hits in 164.2 innings of work.

Braves outfielder B.J. Upton hit two home runs off of Lester in his career, but he is just 12-for-58 against him overall with four walks and 13 strikeouts. Ryan Doumit is 3-for-6 against him with two doubles and three RBI.

Left-hander Mike Minor lost his second game in a row on Tuesday when he was defeated by the Los Angels Dodgers on the road. He pitched 6.2 innings in that start and allowed three runs on eight base hits while walking one and striking out seven. He currently owns a 5.33 ERA on the season and has given up 135 hits in 104.2 innings on the mound.

A's outfielder Jonny Gomes has two hits in his five at-bats against Minor with two doubles and one strikeout. None of the other A's have faced Minor yet.
