Young right-hander Sonny Gray (12-6) will attempt to snap his current three-game losing skid when the Oakland Athletics face Julio Teheran (10-9) and the Atlanta Braves on Saturday.

Sonny Gray was a bit unlucky to take the loss against the Kansas City Royals on Monday after giving up three runs in seven innings of work. He allowed six hits in that outing while walking three batters and striking out two. He now has a 2.86 ERA on the year and he has only given up nine home runs in 157.1 innings on the mound.

The Braves will be getting their first chance to face Gray on Saturday night. So far this season, Gray has held left-handed batters to just a .225 batting average and a .621 OPS.

On Monday, Julio Teheran lost his third start in a row when he was defeated by the Los Angeles Dodgers at home. He gave up five earned runs in 7.1 innings that day while walking two batters and striking out six. His ERA went up to 3.06 with that loss, but he has still only given up 148 hits in 170.2 innings this season.

Pitcher Jason Hammel is the only player on the A's who has gone up against Teheran and he is 0-for-2 against him with a strikeout. Right-handed hitters are batting just .228 against Teheran so far this season.
