In a game that will feature two rookie pitchers, Chase Whitley and the New York Yankees will go up against Marcus Stroman and the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday night.

Chase Whitley's last start was against these same Blue Jays and he ended up beating them for his third win in a row and his third win overall. He made it through five innings in that start and allowed two runs on five base hits while striking out two and walking one. Through seven starts, Whitley is 3-0 with a solid 2.56 ERA and he has only walked four hitters in 38.2 innings.

Whitley didn't give up a single extra-base hit to any of the Blue Jays in that first matchup, but Dioner Navarro and Colby Rasmus were both 1-for-2 against him with an RBI apiece.

Marcus Stroman faced the Yankees last Tuesday and only ended up going 3.2 innings against them in what ended up being his second loss of the season. He allowed two runs on four hits in that short outing and walked three batters while striking out two of them. Stroman hasn't had the best rookie year so far, going 3-2 through nine starts with a high 5.14 ERA.

Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner was able to go 1-for-2 against Stroman last week with a home run and two RBI. Kelly Johnson went 2-for-2 against him with a double.
