Rookie starter Chase Whitley will be pitching for the New York Yankees on Monday and will have a tough matchup in Michael Wacha and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Chase Whitley made his second start of the season for the Yankees last week and ended up with his second no decision after pitching 4.1 innings against the Chicago Cubs. He allowed just one earned run in that start on six hits while walking one and striking out three. He has allowed a total of just one run in his first nine innings of work in the majors.

Whitley has been featuring a 91 mph fastball that he throws about 42 percent of the time, and an 85 mph slider that he'll throw about 27 percent of the time. Left-handed hitters are hitting just .211 against him so far.

Michael Wacha pitched six scoreless innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks last Wednesday, but he ended up with a no decision in a game the Cardinals eventually won 3-2. He allowed just two hits in the game and struck out four while walking three. He has a 3-3 record on the year and has a 2.54 ERA through 60.1 innings.

Brian McCann is the only Yankee who has faced Wacha and he hit a single against him in his only at-bat. The Yankees will be facing one of the best changeups in baseball on Monday.
