On Wednesday night, right-hander Hiroki Kuroda and the New York Yankees will be going up against Shelby Miller and the St. Louis Cardinals.

In his tenth start of the year, Hiroki Kuroda had one of his shortest outings of the season when he took the no decision against the Chicago White Sox. He pitched just 4.2 innings in that game and allowed four runs (two earned) on eight hits while striking out three and walking two. Kuroda's 4.55 ERA is over a run above his career average and he has given up 10 hits per nine innings on the season.

Outfielder Matt Holliday has 11 hits in 26 at-bats against Kuroda with three doubles, a home run and seven RBI. Catcher Yadier Molina hasn't had much success against him by going 2-for-11 with three strikeouts.

Shelby Miller's loss against the Cincinnati Reds on the road last week ended his five-game winning streak. He allowed four runs in five innings in that game while striking out five and walking one. He now owns a 6-3 record on the season with a 3.18 ERA and he has given up just 49 hits in 56.2 innings of work.

Brian McCann is hitless in six at-bats against Miller in his career, while veteran Alfonso Soriano is 0-for-2 with one strikeout. None of the other players on the Yankees have faced Miller yet.
