New York Yankees rookie Chase Whitley will be going for the second win of his career when he faces off against veteran Chris Young and the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday night.

24-year-old Chase Whitley was finally able to pick up his first Major League win last week when he pitched seven strong innings against the Kansas City Royals on the road. He gave up just two runs in that outing on five hits while striking out three and walking no one. Whitley has had an excellent start to his big league career, owning a 2.42 ERA through 26 innings and he still hasn't allowed a home run.

The Mariners will be seeing Whitley for the first time on Wednesday night. So far this season, he is holding right-handed hitters to a .231 batting average in 52 at-bats, while left-handed hitters are hitting .298 against him.

On Friday, the Tampa Bay Rays were able to score three runs against Chris Young in five innings to give him his third loss of the season. He allowed seven hits in that game and matched his season-high in walks with five while striking out three. Despite that outing, Young has pitched well this season, giving up just 53 hits in 68.1 innings and he currently has a 3.42 ERA.

Yankees outfielder Ichiro Suzuki is 8-for-22 against Young in his career with a double, two home runs and six RBI.
