Oakland Athletics starter Scott Kazmir will be going for his eighth win of the year when he goes up against Hiroki Kuroda and the New York Yankees on Saturday night.

On Sunday, Kazmir pitched seven scoreless innings against the Baltimore Orioles and picked up his seventh win of the season. In that game, the left-hander gave up just four hits and walked two while striking out seven. Kazmir currently has one of the best ERAs in baseball at 2.20 and he has only given up five home runs this season in 82 innings.

Future Hall of Famer Derek Jeter has hit two home runs off of Scott Kazmir, but he has just a .133 batting average against him overall in 45 at-bats. Mark Teixeira, on the other hand, is 11-for-20 against him with four doubles, two home runs and eight RBI.

Hiroki Kuroda pitched well against the Kansas City Royals on Sunday, but he still ended up suffering his fourth loss of the season. He went seven innings in that game and allowed just two runs on five hits while walking two and striking out three. Kuroda currently has a 4-4 record on the season with an average 4.12 ERA.

Athletics third baseman Josh Donaldson has just two hits in 12 plate appearances against Kuroda with no extra-base hits and four strikeouts. John Jaso is 4-for-13 against him with a double and an RBI.
