On Saturday afternoon, New York Yankees right-hander David Phelps will be taking on Danny Duffy and the Kansas City Royals in Game 2 of their weekend series.

David Phelps lost his third consecutive start on Monday when he gave up six runs in six innings of work against the Seattle Mariners. He allowed six hits in that start and walked three while striking out four. Phelps now has a 1-3 record on the season, but he has only given up four home runs in 46 innings.

Royals infielder Pedro Ciriaco has faced off against Phelps more than any of his teammates and is 4-for-9 against him with one strikeout. Mike Moustakas is the only Royal who has hit a home run off of the right-hander.

Danny Duffy followed up his worst start of the season with one of his best on Monday when he went six scoreless innings against the St. Louis Cardinals. He allowed only one hit in those six innings of work and walked just one while striking out five. Duffy may have a 3-5 record on the year, but he has actually pitched very well with a 3.05 ERA and just 28 hits given up in 41.1 innings.

Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter has three hits in six at-bats against Duffy with two doubles and one RBI in his career. Scott Sizemore has just one hits against him in five at-bats.
