Masahiro Tanaka will be looking to bounce back from his first Major League loss when he and the New York Yankees go up against Andre Rienzo and the Chicago White Sox on Sunday afternoon.

Masahiro Tanaka followed up his best start of the season with his worst when he picked up his first loss against the Chicago Cubs last week. He pitched six innings in that outing and allowed four runs (three earned) on eight hits while striking out seven and walking one. He still has an excellent 2.39 ERA on the year and has given up just 54 hits in 64 innings.

Tanaka will be facing the White Sox for the first time in his career on Sunday. They will most certainly not be looking forward to facing his split-fingered fastball, which has been one of the highest-rated pitches in the league this year.

Andre Rienzo won for the fourth time this season and kept his perfect record intact when he beat the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday. He went six innings in that start and allowed just two earned runs while striking out a season-high eight batters. He has an even 4.00 ERA through 36 innings this year and has allowed just 29 hits.

Brian Roberts and Jacoby Ellsbury are the only two Yankees who have faced Rienzo and are a combined 2-for-5 against him.
