Gonzalez hurled 6.1 scoreless innings and allowed just 6 hits and 3 walks while striking out 4.  In his last 3 starts, Gonzalez has allowed just 1 run and that was on a solo homer.   Gonzalez is 5 -3 in his last 10 outings.  In 2013, he posted a record of 11 – 8 with a 3.78 ERA in 28 starts and 2 relief appearances.

Last season, Gonzalez was 0 – 2 with a 4.66 ERA in 5 starts against the Yankees.  This season, he has failed to get the decision in either of his 2 appearances against New York.
