On Wednesday night, Dillon Gee (7-8) and the New York Mets will face off against Washington Nationals lefty Gio Gonzalez (9-10), who is 3-1 with a 3.16 ERA this month.

Dillon Gee was beaten by the Miami Marlins at home last Wednesday after giving up four earned runs in 6.2 innings of work. He allowed seven hits in that game and walked two batters while striking out four. Gee now has a 3.88 ERA on the season and he has only given up 119 hits in 132.1 innings on the mound.

Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper has six hits in 16 at-bats against Gee in his career with two home runs and two RBI. Veteran Ryan Zimmerman is just 7-for-32 against him with four walks and five strikeouts.

Last Thursday, Gio Gonzalez had a solid outing against the Miami Marlins on the road and picked up his ninth win of the year. He gave up just two runs in seven innings that day while walking no one and striking out five. He lowered his ERA to 3.74 with that win and he has struck out 150 batters in 151.2 innings this year.

Mets outfielder Juan Lagares is 6-for-16 against Gonzalez in his career with two doubles, a triple and a home run. Veteran Curtis Granderson is just 3-for-22 against the lefty with a walk and seven strikeouts.
