Veteran right-hander Bartolo Colon will be going for his seventh win of the season for the New York Mets when they go up against Lance Lynn and the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday afternoon.

Bartolo Colon picked up win number six last week against the San Diego Padres after giving up just two earned runs in 7.1 innings of work. He allowed four hits in that outing and struck out seven while walking just one. Colon now has a 6-5 record on the year with a 4.15 ERA and he has struck out 7.2 batters per nine innings, which is over a batter and a half more than last season.

Veteran Jhonny Peralta has just two hits in 11 plate appearances against Colon with no extra-base hits and three strikeouts. None of the current Cardinals have been able to hit a home run off of the right-hander.

Last Friday, Lance Lynn won his seventh game of the season when he was able to defeat the Washington Nationals at home. He pitched eight scoreless innings in that outing and allowed just two hits while striking out eight and walking no one. On the year, Lynn has allowed just six home runs in 85.1 innings and he currently owns a 3.16 ERA.

Daniel Murphy hasn't been able to hit a home run off of Lynn yet, but he is 5-for-11 against him with two doubles and three RBI.
