On Wednesday afternoon, Bartolo Colon will try to win his first game since back on June 24 when he and the New York Mets take on Hisashi Iwakuma and the Seattle Mariners.

Last Friday, Bartolo Colon gave up four runs in five innings of work against the San Diego Padres and was lucky to come away with just a no decision. He allowed five hits in that outing and walked one batter while striking out six. Colon is now 8-8 with a 4.12 ERA on the season and he has only walked 18 batters in 126.2 innings.

Mariners All-Star Robinson Cano has six hits in his 15 at-bats against Colon with two doubles, a home run and two RBI. Third baseman Kyle Seager is just 4-for-21 against him with a walk and four strikeouts.

Hisashi Iwakuma pitched well against the Los Angeles Angels on the road last Friday, but he ended up having to settle for a no decision. He pitched seven innings in that start and gave up just two runs on six hits while walking no one and striking out three. Through 15 starts, Iwakuma is 8-4 for the Mariners with a 2.95 ERA and he has struck out 83 batters in 103.2 innings.

Outfielder Curtis Granderson is one of just three Mets who have faced Iwakuma. He is 2-for-7 against him with a walk and two strikeouts.
