On Tuesday night, Jacob deGrom will be going for his third consecutive win when he and the New York Mets face Seattle Mariners right-hander Erasmo Ramirez.

Last Sunday, Jacob deGrom was able to pick up his third win of the year when he defeated the Miami Marlins at home. He lasted seven innings in that outing and gave up just one run on five hits while walking two batters and striking out eight. Through 12 starts, deGrom is now 3-5 for the Mets with a 3.18 ERA and he has struck out 72 batters in his 73.2 innings of work.

The Mariners will get to face deGrom for the first time on Tuesday night. So far, he has a 4.72 ERA on the road, but left-handed hitters are batting just .234 against him.

24-year-old Erasmo Ramirez last made a start for the Mariners back on June 24, when he pitched 4.1 innings against them and finished with a no decision. He gave up two earned runs on five hits in that game while striking out two batters and walking five. In 53 innings this season, Ramirez has given up 55 hits while striking out 42 of the opposing batters he has faced.

The only player on the Mets who Ramirez has faced in his career is outfielder Chris Young, who is 1-2 against him with 2 RBI.
