On Friday night, Bartolo Colon will be looking to end his three-game losing streak when he and the New York Mets face Ian Kennedy and the San Diego Padres.

Veteran Bartolo Colon went eight innings against the Atlanta Braves in his last start, but he still ended up suffering his eighth loss of the season. He allowed three runs on 10 hits in that outing while striking out seven hitters and walking zero. He is now 8-8 with a 3.99 ERA and has given up 9.4 hits per nine innings.

Padres veteran Carlos Quentin has three hits in seven at-bats against Colon with a double and no strikeouts. Rene Rivera is the only player on the Padres who has been able to hit a home run off of Colon.

Ian Kennedy pitched eight shutout innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers last week, but he got no run support from his offense and had to settle for a no decision. He only allowed three hits in that game and walked four batters while striking out eight. In the first half of the season, Kennedy went 7-9 for the Padres with a 3.47 ERA and he struck out 133 hitters in 124.1 innings on the mound.

Mets third baseman David Wright is 5-for-15 against Kennedy with two doubles and two home runs.
