Starter Dillon Gee (4-5) will go for his first win since way back on July 9 when he and the New York Mets take on Scott Kazmir (13-5) and the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday night.

Right-hander Dillon Gee gave up four runs in six innings to the Washington Nationals last week and ended up losing his fifth game of the season. He allowed four hits in that outing and struck out three batters while walking four. Gee has a 3.69 ERA this year and he has only given up 75 hits in 95 innings on the mound.

A's outfielder Coco Crisp has one hit in three at-bats against Gee with no walks and no strikeouts. Infielder Andy Parrino is 0-for-2 against him with a walk and two strikeouts.

All-Star Scott Kazmir pitched pretty well against the Kansas City Royals last Wednesday, but he ended up taking the loss. He went seven innings in that start and allowed three runs on seven base hits while walking one batter and striking out three. Kazmir now has a 2.78 ERA on the season and he has been able to strike out 125 batters in 149 innings of work.

Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson has three hits in 10 at-bats against Kazmir with a triple, a home run and four RBI. Veteran Eric Young 1-for-4 against the left-hander in his career with two strikeouts.
