On Saturday afternoon, Jacob deGrom will be making his eighth start of the season for the New York Mets and will be hoping to win his first game when he faces off against Tom Koehler and the Miami Marlins.

Jacob deGrom lost his second straight start and his fourth loss overall on Monday when he was beaten by the St. Louis Cardinals on the road. He went just 4.1 innings in that game and allowed a season-high six earned runs on 112 hits while only striking out two and waking two. He is now 0-4, but at least some of the blame goes to the Mets' offense, which has only given him 2.38 runs of run support this season.

All of the Marlins will be going up against deGrom for the first time on Saturday.

Right-hander Tom Koehler didn't pitch particularly well against the Chicago Cubs in his last start, but he took the no decision rather than the loss in that outing. He went six innings and allowed four runs on five hits while walking no one and striking out five. Koehler has a .384 ERA so far this season and he has only given up 70 hits in 84.1 innings.

Veteran Daniel Murphy has five hits in 16 at-bats against Koehler in his career with a home run, two RBI and just one strikeout. Outfielder Chris Young also has hit a home run off of him, but that is is only hit in his five at-bats against him.
