On Sunday, fans at the Great American Ball Park will be witness to a great pitching matchup between the New York Mets and Cincinnati Reds. For the Mets, it will be their 24-year-old star in the making, right hander Zach Wheeler (9-9), while the Reds will counter with 26-year-old Mat Latos (5-4).

Wheeler has especially pitched well for the Mets in recent months. Since the middle of July, Wheeler has gone 6-1. He hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in a start in his past 10 starts and will look to get above .500 for the first time all season. Overall, he has an ERA of 3.45 and a WHIP of 1.31 to go with 163 strikeouts in 164.1 innings. This will be the first in Wheeler's brief career that he faces any player from the Reds. When he takes the mound, he will be tested by Brandon Phillips, Brayan Pena, and Todd Frazier.

For the Reds, it will be one of their most consistent pitchers of the past several years getting the start when Latos gets his 16 start of the season. Latos didn't get his first start of the season until June and hasn't wasted any time in finding his groove. Most of the times he has taken the hill this season have been quality starts and while his first September start was a rough one, he is coming off an incredible month of August that saw him go 3-0 with a 2.95 ERA.
