The Great American Ball Park will be the home to a showdown in the National League between the New York Mets and Cincinnati Reds. The game, which will be held on Friday night, will feature the pitching matchup of Bartolo Colon (12-11) against Alfredo Simon (13-9).

Colon, the 41-year-old native of the Dominican Republic has been consistent throughout the entire 2014 season. In his past 10 starts, he has gone 4-5 and has allowed at least 4 earned runs 4 times and 3 runs or less in the other 6 starts. Much like what is on par with the rest of his career, Colon has been incredible with his control, walking just 22 batters in 172.2 innings. He has struggled a bit in the past 2 months, showing that the innings might be catching up to him. He is 3-6 during that time and the Reds have lost 8 of his 11 starts since the start of July. In his career against the Mets, he has allowed just 2 hits in 36 at-bats.
