Rookie Jacob deGrom is still winless through four starts and will be looking to change that when he and the New York Mets go up against Travis Wood and the Chicago Cubs on Thursday night.

Jacob deGrom pitched pretty well in his start against the Philadelphia Phillies last weekend, but all he could get out of it was a no decision. He went 6.1 innings in that start and allowed three runs on three hits while striking out a season-high 11 batters and walking two. He has an 0-2 record this season, but his 2.42 ERA suggests that he has been a bit unlucky not to have gotten a win yet.

Thursday will be the first time that the Cubs will face deGrom and they should expect a fair helping of his 93-95 mph fastball and a few 84 mph changeups.

Travis Wood's three-game winning streak came to an end last Friday when he went just 2.2 innings against the Milwaukee Brewers and allowed seven earned runs. It was his shortest outing of the year and he gave up 10 hits while striking out four. Wood now has a 5-5 record on the season and he has only walked 21 batters in 64.2 innings.

Infielder Ruben Tejada has gone up against Wood 12 times in his career and is just 1-for-11 with a walk and three strikeouts.
