On Wednesday, veteran Daisuke Matsuzaka will be making just his second start of the season for the New York Mets and will be pitching against Edwin Jackson and the Chicago Cubs.

33-year-old Daisuke Matsuzaka made his first start of the year for the Mets back on May 25, when he went six innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks and picked up his second win of the season. Mostly, though, he has been used out of the bullpen and he's done quite well in that role. He has a 2.45 ERA through 29.1 innings this year and he has only given up 14 hits.

The only player on the Cubs who has more than three at-bats against Matsuzaka is Luis Valbuena, who is 3-for-12 against him with a double, an RBI and five strikeouts. Justin Ruggiano is the only player on his team who has hit a home run off of Dice-K.

Edwin Jackson lost for the third time in four starts last week when he was defeated by the San Francisco Giants on the road. He went 5.1 innings in that game and allowed just two runs on four hits while striking out nine and walking two. Jackson has a 3-5 record, but he has only given up four home runs in 63.2 innings.

Third baseman David Wright has a .400 batting average in 15 at-bats against Jackson with a home run and three RBI.
