On Wednesday night, New York Mets rookie Jacob deGrom will try to win his second game of the year when he goes up against Julio Teheran and the Atlanta Braves.

In his last start, 26-year-old Jacob deGrom ended up with a no decision after pitching 6.2 good innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates on the road. He allowed just two runs on five base hits in that start while striking out four batters and walking three. In 54.2 innings this season, deGrom has 45 strikeouts and he has only given up five home runs.

The Braves will be seeing deGrom for the first time on Wednesday and they should expect to see a lot of his 93-95 mph fastballs. He throws that pitch 61 percent of the time, while also mixing in a slider, a curveball and a changeup.

Young right-hander Julio Teheran picked up his seventh win of the year last week by beating the Philadelphia Phillies on the road. He allowed just two runs (one earned) on six hits in that start while striking out nine and walking no one. Teheran has been excellent for the Braves this season, giving up only 90 hits in 119 innings and walking just 23 batters.

Mets third baseman David Wright has just one hit against Teheran in eight at-bats, but that one hit was a home run. Lucas Duda is 3-for-7 against him with a double and a home run.
