Veteran right-hander Kevin Correia will take the mound for the Minnesota Twins when they go up against Hisashi Iwakuma and the Seattle Mariners on Monday night.

Kevin Correia lost his second consecutive game last Wednesday when he was beaten by the Kansas City Royals at home. He actually pitched pretty well in that game, though, by giving up just two runs in six innings while walking two and striking out three. Correia currently has a 4.95 ERA through 17 starts and has given up 117 hits in 96.1 innings pitched.

Mariners first baseman Corey Hart has eight hits in 21 at-bats against Correia with a double, a triple, a home run and three RBI. Veteran catcher John Buck is 4-for-9 against him with a double and a home run.

Hisashi Iwakuma pitched very well against the Houston Astros last week and came away with his sixth win of the year. He went six innings in that start and gave up just one run on seven hits while striking out seven batters and walking zero. Iwakuma now has a 6-4 record on the season with a 3.33 ERA and he has only walked eight batters in 81 innings.
