On Friday night, Kyle Gibson will make his eighth start of the season for the Minnesota Twins and will face Tim Lincecum and the San Francisco Giants.

Kyle Gibson picked up his fourth win of the season when he beat the Seattle Mariners at home last week. He gave up just one run in seven innings of work in that game and struck out four while walking two. He now has a 4.20 ERA and a 4-3 record on the young season.

Gibson will be facing the Giants for the first time in his career on Friday. Against right-handed pitchers this season, the Giants have hit just .246 with a .294 on-base percentage.

Tim Lincecum pitched pretty well against the Miami Marlins last week, but he got no help from his offense and ended up picking up his third loss of the season. He went six innings in that game and allowed three runs on seven hits while striking out six and walking three. After a rough start to the year, Lincecum has dropped his ERA down to 4.74 and he has struck out 25 batters in his last 23.2 innings.

Catcher Kurt Suzuki has gone up against Lincecum more than any of the other Twins and has just five hits in 20 at-bats with three strikeouts. Jason Kubel is just 1-for-7 against him with three strikeouts.
