Kevin Correia will be hoping to end his two-game losing streak on Tuesday night when the Minnesota Twins go up against Ian Kennedy and the San Diego Padres.

Kevin Correia lost for the fifth time last Wednesday when he was defeated by the Boston Red Sox at home. He allowed five runs in the game on nine hits and wasn't able to strike out a single batter. He has had a high ERA all season and it is now up to 6.80 through 42.1 innings of work.

Outfielder Seth Smith doesn't have any extra-base hits against Correia, but he is 6-for-15 with two walks against him. Will Venable has four hits in nine at-bats against Correia with a triple and two RBI.

Ian Kennedy lost for the fifth time this season when the Cincinnati Reds were able to score five runs against him in six innings. He allowed 11 hits in that game and struck out four while walking one. Kennedy is now 2-5 on the year, but he has a pretty good 3.60 ERA and has struck out 60 batters in 55 innings.

Third baseman Trevor Plouffe has one hit in three at-bats against Kennedy, with that one hit being a solo home run. Jason Kubel is hitless against the right-hander in three career plate appearances, while opposing pitcher Kevin Correia has gotten one hit in seven at-bats against Kennedy.
