Right-hander Ricky Nolasco (5-9), who has lost three games in a row, will take the mound for the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday when they face Danny Duffy (8-11) and the Kansas City Royals.

Last Wednesday, Ricky Nolasco gave up four runs in 6.2 innings against the Cleveland Indians and took the loss. He allowed eight base hits in that game and struck out six batters while walking one. Nolasco has given up 155 hits in 116.1 innings of work this season and his 5.96 ERA is the highest ERA of his career.

Third baseman Mike Moustakas has three hits in 10 at-bats against Nolasco and is the only Royal who has been able to hit a home run off of the right-hander. Alcides Escobar is 7-for-14 against him in his career with two doubles and a triple.

Danny Duffy snapped his three-game winning streak last Wednesday when he was beaten by the Colorado Rockies on the road. He gave up five runs (one earned) in seven innings that day while striking out six batters and walking one. He actually lowered his ERA to 2.53 with that loss and he has only given up 93 hits in 128 innings this year.

Twins All-Star catcher Kurt Suzuki has four hits in 10 at-bats against Duffy with a double and two walks. Joe Mauer is hitless in seven at-bats against him with a walk and a strikeout.
