Kevin Correia (5-13) will be hoping to end his two-game losing streak when the Minnesota Twins go up against second-year starter Yordano Ventura (7-8) and the Kansas City Royals on Thursday night.

Right-hander Kevin Correia had one of his worst starts of the season last Friday when he was defeated by the Chicago White Sox at home. He only made it four innings in that game and allowed seven runs (six earned) on 10 hits while walking two and striking out no one. His ERA is now up to 5.06 and he has given up 146 hits in his 117.1 innings on the mound.

Royals veteran Raul Ibanez is 6-for-14 against Correia in his career and is the only player on Kansas City who has hit a home run off of the right-hander. Eric Hosmer is just 4-for-22 against him with three walks and two RBI.

Yordano Ventura lasted 6.1 innings against the Cleveland Indians last Friday and ended up with a no decision. He allowed four runs (three earned) in that start and struck out seven batters while walking just one. On the season, Ventura has a 3.63 Era and he has struck out 95 batters in 114 innings.

Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe has a hit in both of his at-bats against Ventura with a double, a triple and two RBI. Infielder Brian Dozier is 2-for-3 against him with one strikeout.
