Right-hander Phil Hughes will be going for his 10th win of the season when he and the Minnesota Twins face left-hander Brett Anderson and the Colorado Rockies on Sunday afternoon.

On Tuesday, Phil Hughes had one of his best starts of the year and was able to defeat the Seattle Mariners on the road. He made it through 7.1 scoreless innings in that start and gave up eight hits while striking out eight and walking no one. Hughes improved his record to 9-5 on the year with a 3.70 ERA and he has only given up nine homer runs in 116.2 innings.

Veteran first baseman Justin Morneau is the only player on the Rockies who has faced Hughes, and is just 2-for-16 against him with two home runs and three strikeouts.

Brett Anderson last made a start for the Rockies back on April 12, when he pitched just three innings against the San Francisco Giants before leaving the game with a finger injury. He made two rehab starts in Triple-A and was 1-0 with a 0.96 ERA in 9.1 innings of work.

First baseman Kendrys Morales has gone up against Anderson more times than any of the other Twins, but he is just 1-for-8 against him with two strikeouts. Oswaldo Arcia is 1-for-1 against Anderson and is the only Twin who has hit a home run off of him.
