Tuesday night, Trevor May (1 – 4, 9.38 ERA) gets the call for the Minnesota Twins as they face Trevor Bauer (5 – 7, 4.10 ERA) and the Cleveland Indians.  May will make his 6th start and 7th appearance as Bauer makes his 23rd start. 

Trevor May picked up his 1st Major League victory in his last start.  May surrendered 3 runs and 6 hits (including a home run) in 5 innings of work.  May had 6 strikeouts with just 1 walk.  It was the best outing so far for the young right-hander since getting the call in early August.  Down at Triple-A Rochester, May was 8 – 6 with a 2.84 ERA in 18 starts. 

May has never faced the Tribe before but if he can build on the confidence gained from his first win, he could have a shot at getting his 2nd victory.

Trevor Bauer pitched to his 2nd straight no-decision in his last start.  In 5.2 innings of work, Bauer gave up 4 runs and 6 hits while walking 4 and striking out 4.  Bauer has struggled with his control in recent weeks and has allowed 3 or more walks 5 times in his last 10 outings en route to a 2 - 3 record in that span of time.  Last season, Bauer posted a record of 1 -2 record with a 5.29 ERA in 4 starts.

Bauer didn’t face the Twins last season but he has seen them earlier this season.  In 2 starts against Minnesota, Bauer is 0 – 1.
