The two teams at the bottom of the American League Central are the Minnesota Twins and the Chicago White Sox. Neither team wants to finish the season in last place, which is what makes their meetings with one another for the rest of the season so important. The Twins will send right-hander Trevor May (2-4) to the mound against the White Sox and right-hander Hector Noesi (8-9).

May, a 24-year-old rookie, hasn't had the best start to his big league career. His numbers don't jump off as those of a staff ace, but he has shown with each quality start, that he can pitch in the big leagues. He has gone 5-2 in his last 10 starts and in what is the most important number, the White Sox have won 8 of his last 10 starts. His ERA has dropped to 4.69 and he has 114 strikeouts in 153.2 innings and has actually gotten better later in the season, which is usually a problem for young pitchers.
