Big right-hander Kyle Gibson (9-8) will be on the mound for the Minnesota Twins when they take on Jose Quintana (6-7) and the Chicago White Sox on Sunday afternoon.

On Tuesday, Kyle Gibson pitched seven shutout innings against the Kansas City Royals on the road and came away with the win. He gave up just two hits in that outing and walked two batters while striking out seven. His ERA dipped to 3.94 with that shutout and he has only given up seven home runs in 114.1 innings on the mound this season.

Paul Konerko and Alexei Ramirez are the only two White Sox players who have hit home runs off of Gibson, while catcher Tyler Flowers is 0-for-3 against him with two strikeouts.

25-year-old Jose Quintana picked up his only win of July on Tuesday when he defeated the Detroit Tigers on the road. He pitched six innings in that start and allowed two runs on nine hits while walking two and striking out two. He has struck out 120 hitters in 137.1 innings this season and he currently has a 3.15 ERA.

One player on the Twins who Quintana has not done well against is veteran Josh Willingham, who is 9-for-18 against him with two home runs and six RBI. Trevor Plouffe is just 1-for-8 against him in his career with two walks and two strikeouts.
