Yovani Gallardo will be on the mound for the Milwaukee Brewers when they face eight-game winner Doug Fister and the Washington Nationals on Sunday.

In his last start, Yovani Gallardo pitched 5.1 innings against the St. Louis Cardinals and gave up five runs, but somehow he got away with just a no decision. He allowed seven hits in that start and walked one while striking out three. Gallardo is 5-5 on the year for the Brewers and he has lowered his walk rate to just 2.5 walks per nine innings, which is a career best.

Nationals first baseman Adam LaRoche has nine hits in 28 at-bats versus Gallardo with three doubles, two home runs and six RBI. Outfielder Denard Span only has two hits against him in 17 at-bats and has been struck out by the right-hander three times.

In his 12th start, Doug Fister was able to win his eighth game of the year by defeating the Baltimore Orioles on the road. He went seven innings in that game and gave up two runs on seven hits while walking two batters and striking out three. He is now 8-2 on the season with a 2.90 ERA despite only striking out 45 batters in 77.2 innings.

Brewers first baseman Mark Reynolds has hit a home run off of Fister, but he is just 3-for-13 overall against him with two strikeouts.
