Tuesday evening, the Milwaukee Brewers will take the field behind Kyle Lohse as they face the St. Louis Cardinals and Lance Lynn.  It will be the 6th start of the season for both pitchers.

Kyle Lohse comes into this one after winning his last 4 starts to push his record to 4 – 1 with an ERA of 2.38.  The one loss in his first start seems like a distant memory compared to the way that he is pitching now. His last time out, Lohse went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs on 5 hits with 5 strikeouts and no walks.  In 2013, Lohse was 11 – 10 with an ERA of 3.35 in 32 starts.

Last season, Lohse went 1 – 3 with an ERA of 4.88 in his 4 starts against his former team.   Lohse will need to keep an eye on Yadier Molina.  Molina is batting .563 against Lohse with 2 homers and 5 RBIs.

Lance Lynn took his first loss of the season in his last outing after going 6.1 innings and giving up 3 runs on 4 hits with 2 walks and 9 strikeouts.  The loss dropped Lynn to a still impressive 4 – 1 with a 3.30 ERA.  Last season, Lynn was 15 – 10 with a 3.97 ERA in 33 starts.

In 2013, Lynn went 1 – 1 with an ERA of 3.47 in 4 starts against the Brewers.  Lynn should be able to get past the Milwaukee lineup if they are without Ryan Braun and Jean Segura.  Both Braun and Segura have been thorns in Lynn’s side when they have faced him.
