Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Mike Fiers (6-2) will try to win his third game in a row on Wednesday night when he goes up against veteran Adam Wainwright (18-9) and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Mike Fiers pitched five shutout innings against the Miami Marlins at home last Thursday and picked up the win. He gave up just three hits in that outing and struck out eight hitters while walking three. In 53.4 innings this season, Fiers has struck out 59 batters while only giving up 33 base hits.

Veteran Jhonny Peralta is 1-for-3 against Fiers in his career and is the only player on the Cardinals who has hit a home run off of him. Outfielder Matt Holliday is hitless in seven at-bats against him with three walks and two strikeouts.

Right-hander Adam Wainwright won his third game in a row last Friday when he defeated the Colorado Rockies at home. He gave up just one run in eight innings of work that day while striking out eight batters and walking no one. Wainwright now has a very solid 2.56 ERA on the season and he has only given up 174 hits in 211 innings.

Brewers third baseman Aramis Ramirez is 23-for-56 against Wainwright in his career with eight doubles, three home runs and eight RBI. Rickie Weeks is just 7-for-43 against him with three walks and 14 strikeouts.
