Big right-hander Jimmy Nelson (2-4) will try to win just his second game of the month when he and the Milwaukee Brewers take on Tyson Ross (11-12) and the San Diego Padres on Tuesday.

Last Wednesday, Jimmy Nelson gave up four runs in 5.2 innings of work against the Toronto Blue Jays and ended up losing for the fourth time this year. He allowed nine hits in that outing and walked two batters while striking out four. Nelson has only walked 2.5 batters per nine innings this season and currently has a 4.15 ERA.

Nelson will make his first career start against the San Diego Padres on Tuesday night. Right-handed batters currently have a .275 batting average against him, while left-handed hitters are batting .265 against him.

Tyson Ross had his second straight bad-luck loss last Thursday when he was beaten by the Los Angeles Dodgers on the road. He pitched eight strong innings in that game and allowed just two runs while walking two batters and striking out eight. Ross has a very good 2.68 ERA on the year and he has only given up 7.4 hits per nine innings.

Brewers shortstop Jean Segura has two hits in his six at-bats versus Ross with a home run and three RBI. All-Star outfielder Carlos Gomez is 0-for-4 against him in his career with a walk and two strikeouts.
