Right-hander Matt Garza (8-8), who has a 2.65 ERA in his last six starts, will take the mound on Saturday night when the Milwaukee Brewers face Edinson Volquez (12-7) and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Matt Garza was able to even up his record on Sunday when he beat the Cincinnati Reds at home. He pitched six innings in that start and gave up just one earned run on four hits while walking three batters and striking out six. Garza has given up just 140 hits in 158.2 innings this season and he now has a 3.74 ERA.

Pirated third baseman Pedro Alvarez is 8-for-18 against Garza in his career with two doubles, a home run and six RBI. Neil Walker only has three hits in 17 at-bats against the right-hander with four walks and seven strikeouts.

Edinson Volquez pitched seven pretty good innings against the Chicago Cubs on Sunday and picked up his 12th win of the season. He gave up three runs (one earned) on just four hits in that game and walked five batters while striking out five. Volquez has a 3.27 ERA on the year and he has given up eight hits per nine innings.

Brewers slugger Ryan Braun has 13 hits in 41 at-bats against Volquez with two doubles, a home run and three RBI. First baseman Mark Reynolds is just 1-for-12 against him in his career with four walks and five strikeouts.
