Two Kyle's square off Monday in Philadelphia as the Brewers' Kyle Lohse (0-1) takes on Kyle Kendrick (0-0) of the Phillies. Lohse wanted to get off to a better start for Milwaukee after going just 11-10 in his first year with the team in 2013, but scored the loss in an April 1st game against the Braves. Lohse pitched decent, allowing 3 ER over 7 innings while fanning 8 but gave up HR's to Jason Heyward and Freddie Freeman which propelled Atlanta to a 5-3 win.

Lohse pitched well against the Phillies in his only start against the team in 2013. In a June matchup Lohse allowed just 1 run over 8 innings while striking out 6 as the Brewers erupted in a 9-1 win. The game helped lower Lohse's ERA from 4.39 at the time to 4.03 as he continued to the season ending 3.35 number. Kendrick pitched well to kick off his 8th season with Philadelphia but it didn't transcend into the win column. Kendrick matched up with Texas on April 2nd and went 7 innings allowing just 1 run on 5 hits, but Jonathon Papelbon gave up 3 runs in the 9th to blow the Phillies lead and deal the team a 3-4 loss.

Kendrick started only 1 game against Milwaukee in 2013, a 3-4 Phillies loss last June. Kendrick went 6 innings and allowed just 3 runs but was knocked out with Philadelphia trailing 1-3. Only Milwaukee's Ryan Braun and Rickie Weeks have faced Kendrick more than 10 times with each having success (Braun .438 in 16 AB, Weeks .364 in 11 AB).
