Right-hander Kyle Lohse will be looking to bounce back from his worst start of the season when the Milwaukee Brewers take on Jonathon Niese and the New York Mets on Thursday night.

Kyle Lohse picked up his first loss since Opening Day last Friday when the Pittsburgh Pirates were able to score eight runs against him in five innings. It was the most runs that the right-hander has given up this year and he was only able to strike out one batter sin that game. Lohse is now 7-2 on the season with a 3.27 ERA and he has only walked 14 batters in 88 innings.

Mets third baseman David Wright has nine hits in 21 at-bats against Lohse in his career with a double, two home runs and four RBI. Outfielder Chris Young has hit a home run off of him, but he is just 3-for-17 overall in their matchups with four strikeouts.

Jonathon Niese picked up his third straight no decision last week against the San Francisco Giants after going seven innings and giving up just two earned runs. He allowed five hits in that outing and walked one while striking out three. Niese only has a 3-3 record so far this season, but his 2.68 ERA suggests that he has deserved more wins.

Second baseman Rickie Weeks has a .400 batting average against Niese in 10 at-bats with a double and a home run.
