35-year-old Kyle Lohse and the Milwaukee Brewers will be going up against Colorado Rockies rookie Tyler Matzek on Sunday afternoon.

Kyle Lohse didn't pitch particularly well against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday, but he did well enough to pick up his eighth win of the season. He pitched six innings in that start and allowed four runs (three earned) on four hits while walking three, hitting two batters and striking out three. Lohse has been excellent in his second season with the Brewers, going 8-2 through 15 starts with a 3.09 ERA.

All-Star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki has six hits in 18 at-bats against Lohse with two doubles, a triple and a home run. Drew Stubbs has only two hits against him in 14 at-bats with two strikeouts.

Young left-hander Tyler Matzek made his second Major League start on Monday against the Los Angeles Dodgers on the road and ended up suffering his first big league loss. He pitched five innings in that outing and gave up three runs on 10 hits while striking out no one and walking two. Through two starts, Matzek has a 3.75 ERA and he has thrown about 70 percent of his pitches for strikes.

All of the Brewers will be going up against Matzek for the first time on Sunday. So far, left-handed hitters have batted .333 against him in 15 at-bats.
