Right-hander Mike Fiers (6-3), who is 2-1 with a 1.45 ERA this month, will make the start for the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night when they face Johnny Cueto (18-9) and the Cincinnati Reds.

Mike Fiers lost against the St. Louis Cardinals last Wednesday despite pitching very well in the game. He went seven innings in that outing and gave up just two runs (one earned) on three base hits while striking out seven batters and walking two. Through 12 starts, Fiers now has a 1.78 ERA and he has only given up 36 hits in 60.2 innings of work.

Reds outfielder Jay Bruce has just two hits in 11 at-bats against Fiers in his career with no walks and five strikeouts. Second baseman Brandon Phillips is 2-for-8 against him with two strikeouts and three RBI.

Right-hander Johnny Cueto gave up six runs in 5.2 innings against the Chicago Cubs on the road last week and finished with a loss. He allowed five hits in that start and walked a season-high five batters while striking out eight. Cueto now has a 2.33 ERA on the year and he has struck out 228 batters in 227.2 innings.

Brewers third baseman Aramis Ramirez is 14-for-44 against Cueto in his career with four doubles, five home runs and 11 RBI. Rickie Weeks is just 6-for-31 against him with five walks and nine strikeouts.
