Veteran Matt Garza will attempt to win his sixth game of the year when he and the Milwaukee Brewers go up against Homer Bailey and the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday afternoon.

Right-hander Matt Garza was able to defeat the Colorado Rockies last Saturday and he earned his fifth win of the year in the process. He pitched 6.2 innings in that game and gave up four earned runs on nine base hits while striking out four and walking zero. Through 17 starts, Garza is 5-5 with a 4.10 ERA and he has only given up eight home runs in 107.2 innings.

Garza has had a tough time getting Jay Bruce out over the years. The Reds outfielder has eight hits in 19 at-bats against him with three doubles, two home runs and six RBI.

Homer Bailey pitched his best game of the season on Sunday when he beat the San Francisco Giants on the road. He had a shutout in that game and gave up just three hits while walking one and striking out seven. Bailey is now 8-4 this season and he has struck out 94 batters in 104.2 innings of work.

Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks has a whopping 14 hits in 27 at-bats versus Bailey with two doubles, two home runs and eight RBI. Outfielder Carlos Gomez has just four hits in 25 at-bats against the right-hander with four strikeouts.
