Nine-game winner Kyle Lohse will be on the mound for the Milwaukee Brewers when they face big right-hander Alfredo Simon and the Cincinnati Reds on Friday night.

Veteran Kyle Lohse pitched a solid game against the Colorado Rockies last Friday, but he ended up having to settle for the no decision in a game the Brewers ended up winning 3-2. He pitched seven strong innings in that game and allowed just one run on seven hits while striking out four and walking two. Lohse has a 9-2 record through 17 starts for the Brewers and he has only walked 22 batters in 114 innings.

Reds All-Star firs baseman Joey Votto has 10 hits in 30 at-bats against Lohse with three doubles, a home run and two RBI. Ryan Ludwick is just 4-for-31 against him with eight strikeouts.

Alfredo Simon continued his impressive first half by pitching seven good innings against the San Francisco Giants last Saturday, but he had to settle for the no decision. He made it through seven innings in that start and allowed just one run on three hits while striking out four and walking one. Simon has a 10-3 record with a 2.81 ERA on the year and he has only walked 24 batters in 102.2 innings.

Brewers second baseman Scooter Gennett is 2-for-6 against Simon in his career with both of those hits being solo home runs.
