The Milwaukee Brewers will travel to Wrigley Field to take on the Chicago Cubs in the first of a three game series. The Brewers will send Kyle Lohse to the mound to face the Cubs’ Jeff Samardzija.

Lohse allowed three runs over six innings in his last outing against the New York Yankees. It was his third no decision in a row after running off four straight wins in early April. He still holds a 4-1 record with a 2.75 ERA and is playing well for the first place Brewers. He’ll look to get back in the win column when he faces the Cubs on Friday

Current Cubs hitters hold a .277 batting average against Lohse. Anthony Rizzo has played especially well against Lohse going 8-for-17 with two doubles. Junior Lake has also fared well hitting .500 against Lohse in his eight at bats with a home run and four RBIs.

Samardzija easily has the worst luck in the majors holding a 0-3 record with a 1.45 ERA which puts him at second in the National League. He hasn’t had a win in 14 starts going back to last season. In his last outing, Samardzija pitched six scoreless innings only giving up two hits and a walk as the Cubs once again fell by a score of 2-0 to the Atlanta Braves. Samardzija currently has a 15 inning scoreless streak with only five hits allowed over that period.

Samardzija will have to be careful of Ryan Braun who is 7-for-16 in his career against Samardzija with a double, two home runs, and five RBI. He has shut down Jonathan Lucroy who only has one hit in 15 at bats against Samardzija with seven strikeouts.
